PDF Editor - Change Existing Text, Add Signatures

Free online PDF editor: rewrite the real text inside a PDF, add signatures and images, rotate or delete pages, then download. Runs in your browser - files never leave your device.

Runs 100% on your device - nothing you enter or upload leaves your browser.
What this editor can and cannot do. It rewrites the real text inside ordinary PDFs - click any paragraph in the list, change the words, download. It can also add new text, images and signatures, and rotate or delete pages. Limits: a scanned PDF (a photo of pages) has no real text to edit, and if a letter you type is missing from the document's fonts the tool says so and shows the fidelity it reached instead of pretending the edit is perfect.

How to edit a PDF here

Drop the PDF, then work page by page. Preview pages with Prev and Next. Rotate fixes sideways scans; Delete page removes a page entirely. Add a text label or an image (like a signature) by giving it a position: X is the distance from the left edge and Y from the top of the page, measured in points (an A4 page is about 595 by 842 points). Download when done.

Changing existing text

Under the preview, the editor lists the real paragraphs of the current page. Click one, change the words and apply - the file is rewritten in place, and the rest of the document stays byte-identical. After each change the tool reports the fidelity it reached: exact (the letters were already in the document's fonts), reembedded (a missing letter was added to the font), substituted (a different typeface was used) or overlaid (old text covered, new text drawn on top - the last resort). Scanned documents are refused: a photo of a page has no editable text.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the text already in the PDF?
Yes, for normal PDFs: the page's paragraphs are listed under the preview - click one, edit the words, apply. Two things can happen, and the tool tells you which: usually the text is rewritten in place using the document's own fonts. When a paragraph's layout or fonts do not allow that, the old text is truly removed from the file and your version is placed in the same spot in a standard font, which can look different. A scanned page is an image, so it has no text to rewrite.
How do I fill in a PDF form that is not interactive?
Add a text label over each blank field: type the answer, set X and Y to position it (X is distance from the left edge, Y from the top, in points), and repeat per field. Then download.
Can I sign a PDF with this?
Yes. Sign on white paper, photograph or scan it, crop it (our Screenshot Editor works), then add it as an image at the signature line.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The file loads into your browser and every change happens there.
Why do added labels not match the PDF fonts exactly?
Labels use a standard built-in font. The original file's embedded fonts cannot be reused for new text in the browser, so added text looks slightly different from the document's own text.
