Frequently asked questions
Which algorithms are supported?
SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512, computed with your browser's built-in Web Crypto API - the same engine browsers trust for secure connections. MD5 is not included because it is broken and browsers no longer offer it.
Is SHA-1 safe to use?
SHA-1 is collision-broken and must not be used for security decisions. It is included for legacy checksum compatibility only. Prefer SHA-256 or stronger.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Hashing runs entirely on your device.
